Welcome to Pringle Nature Center at the Bristol Woods County Park. The purpose of the Nature Center is to educate the general public on the beauty and diversity of the outdoors. What better way to showcase the Bristol Woods Park than to host a Geocaching Event?
Saturday, November 17th at 11:00am is the date and time. Pringle Nature Center is the place. This Event will be educational in nature. We have 2 courses that will be taught.
Professor CD&Kids will lecture on the subject of Geocaching 101. We'll invite the general public and hold classes on how to work a GPSr, how to search for some temperary caches, and how to log your find. We hope we can recruit some experienced geocachers to serve as Assistant Professors in this capacity.
Professor Rogheff will host a hands-on, advanced course on how to decorate and hide a geocache. You'll get an up-close and personal glimpse inside the mind of Rogheff. He'll bring lots of containers and camoflauge so you can take home a geocache to place. Have some strange and unusual object that you think would somehow make a good geocache? Bring it along.
Will there be new caches? Why yes, yes there will be new caches. The folks at Pringle and some area cachers will be placing new caches to be activated for this event. Because of this, we ask that you check with the Christine, the Pringle Naturalist or Rogheff, if you're planning any caches in Bristol Woods so we can coordinate this event.
We're planning on a commerative patch, pathtag, geocoin or some sort of keepsake for this event. Lunch will be available (hotdogs and chili). The proceeds will help pay for the aforementioned keepsake.
