You probably don’t want to walk around here with sandals unless you are very careful. Ouch, they’re all over the place! Pretty good view though. Give your digital camera a panorama workout. This location could be a bit dicey to get to after or during a substantial rain.
The valley, Snake Valley, was a major route for the Blackfoot Confederacy. British and European settlers arrived in the 1880’s. The soil was rich and the climate was dry. By the early 1900’s, thoughts turned to irrigation. The British owned Canada Land and Irrigation Company built the dams and has been in operation since 1920. The site was named after the company’s Canadian manager, J.D. McGregor. Water comes via canal from the Bow River near Carseland.
