The 1.75-mile Cholla Trail is a great alternative hike to the
steeper and busier Summit Trail on the opposite side of Camelback
Mountain. The well-maintained trail gains 1,300 feet from trailhead
to summit, roughly following the long east ridge of the
mountain,and offers marvelous views of Phoenix, Scottsdale, and the
Phoenician Resort. Expect some steep, rocky sections near the top
with scrambling over boulders and along the ridge crest. No water
is available along the trail.

I'm going to have seven hiking events that will bring you to
the top of all seven summits of Phoenix.
I picked Camelback Mountain for our second hike to give us a
challenge compared to Shadow Mountain.
Every week, either on a Saturday or Sunday, for the next
seven weeks, we will hit em' all!
Come join us for this and the other six hikes. After hiking
to the top of all seven summits, you can say you did something not
many have.
Please bring plenty of water, sunscreen, proper shoes
and anything else you need to make your hike more
enjoyable
