Geocache Description:

Welcome to Bill and Gary’s Excellent Adventure II: Cache if Cache can.

Stony Creek/Wolcott Mill Metropark thanks all those who have got their feet wet geocaching this year. As the year turns, Bill and Gary's Excellent Adventure II has been laid to rest. The drawing has been done and the prizes will be mailed in early January. Take the winter to warm your feet, charge the batteries, read the manual, fill the oxygen tanks..., for Bill and Gary promise to take you to new heights in Bill and Gary's Excellent Adventure III, due in May of this year. Satellites are waiting.

This adventure has been designed to introduce you to your local Huron-Clinton Metroparks. Maybe you are a regular user of the Metropark system or maybe this will be your first visit, either way you are about to embark on a journey that has been designed to take you on trails less traveled. You will be seeing areas of the park that you may never even knew existed. At each cache, you will be presented with information and photos about your current location, read them carefully and as with last year, we hope to test your resolve and determination.

We would like to thank all those who attempted last year’s game and congratulate those who finished. We have given much thought to this years adventure and hope that you find it challenging, informational and enjoyable. For those of you who may not have participated in last year’s adventure, let us take a moment to explain the concept. This is a multi-cache game, the first coordinates have been supplied for you and the rest you will have to earn. At each cache you will find a cleverly hidden plastic container. In the container you will find an information package along with a business card giving you the next set of coordinates and a helpful hint. Take a card with you and proceed to the next cache. When you have finished the game, take all of your cards to the park office and present them to the park receptionist. Once you have done so you will be qualified to enter a drawing for 2004 annual passes, golf packages etc…. The game will continue until 12/31/2003 with the drawing-taking place during the first week of January. Winners will be contacted by mail.

As with last year’s adventure, all of the caches are readily assessable from within the park. Parking lots for each facility are clearly marked and roadside parking is not allowed. Park rangers will issue tickets so please use the parking lots while in the park. If you wish to park on the parameter of the park, do not park on or cross private property.

Here is where the Adventure begins. Dust off that GPS, find that instruction manual, grab your friends and family or go it alone, just project that waypoint and get moving. The satellites are waiting.

**** The park will be conducting a deer hunt on several weekends this fall. As a result, the Adventure will be closed on Oct. 18-19, Nov. 01-02, Nov. 22-23 and Dec. 13-14.
