The UMPI Loring Woods is a 177-acre parcel of land that is part of the Natural Areas of the Northern Maine Museum of Science. It has been used as a living laboratory for biology and recreation students alike. The property came to the University when Loring Air Force Base closed as a result of the Base Closure Commission.
