Another Severn View Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Graculus: This cache has been unavailable for a considerable period and the owner has not given any indication it is being replaced/repaired in the near future.

Rather than keep it temporarily disabled (which should only be used for shortish periods) I'm archiving it. If/when the cache is ever replaced I'll gladly un-archive it assuming it still meets the guidelines.

Guidelines: “As the cache owner, you are also responsible for physically checking your cache periodically, and especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to hunt for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable time – normally a few weeks – in which to arrange a visit to your cache. In the event that a cache is not being properly maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an extended period of time, we may archive or transfer the listing.”

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Many thanks,

Geocache Description:

The cache is located at the summit of May Hill, a National Trust area on the edge of the Forest of Dean. The summit is visible from miles around due to the trees originally planted to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887, and replanted in 1977 for the Silver Jubilee of Elizabeth II. The views from the top are extensive and include the Severn Vale and Welsh Mountains. A short but steep climb is required and the tree area is popular with muggles so care will need to be taken with finding and concealing the cache. The cache itself is a small cylindrical container with original contents of notebook, pen, one US cent, an orange mouse and a key ring.
Limited parking is available at N 051.53.279 W 002.27.018 or N 051.53.862 W 002.27.007.
