When something is a great bargain, we call it a screaming deal. When the City of Salem bought the 96 year old Southern Pacific RR Bridge for just a $1 in Oct of 2004 for future conversion to a pedestrian bridge, it sounded like a screaming deal. Almost 4 million dollars later, some might dispute that. A walk across the bridge might change your mind. It's a delightful walk between the two riverfront city parks, and a terrific view of the Willamette River without the steady roar of traffic to make you fear for your life. This is our first cache. What it lacks in imagination, it makes up for in location.We hope you enjoy this little slice of the beauty of the Willamette Valley. No need to stray from the path. BYOP.
