It is once again that time of year for all NEFGANs to perform their
civic duties and vote for the 2009-2010 board members. We will be
holding the event this year at Glen Saint Mary Schoals.
The NEFGA board would once again like to invite all cachers to
join us in celebration of another successful year for NEFGA.
All cachers, NEFGA members and non-NEFGA members alike, are
encouraged to join us for a day of Food, Finds, and Fellowship.
Please come on out and Vote for the cacher or cachers you think
will better NEFGA in this coming year.
There will plenty of new caches to be found. Coins to be
discovered, traded, and Won, and just some good old home town
smoozing.
In addition to the NEFGA elections we will be serving a Country
style BBQ to feed the masses that you will not be disapointd in and
would like to encourage all participants to bring baked goods
and/or side dishes like Tater Salad and cold slaw.
Starting time will be around 9am.
The Main meal Saturday will be served around 1pm
Elections- Saturday at 3pm
Supper time- Saturday at 1pm
NEFGA has reserved this newly built area at Glen Saint Mary Schoals
so anyone wishing to attend please post your intentions to be
there. This way we can plan the food.

November 21 by Baker Baby (724 found) What a wonderful day this turned out to be with loads of Food and Cachers showing up. Thanks Champ for setting this one up as you and your squad did a fantastic job. Thank You
[view this log] | November 21 by flyingpigfarm (50 found) Flying Pig Farm attended this wonderful event! I was lovely to put some faces with names and/or handles. And we, of course, proved ourselves to be uniquely socially unacceptable once again! For instance, we got there late (but not as late as some people - like the guy who won the 'Island Time' award'!), and didn't load any coordinates before we left so we had to pick up the coordinates from the table and all that was there was 'The Pod'. BUT, we ALMOST redeemed ourselves when we bushedwhacked our way into this extremely miserable field to score a FTF on it! It was close, though, because other cachers had found a road that came in close to the cache and NEARLY beat us! But, after we'd all plundered the swag, we followed them out to that oh-so-convenient road only to find ourselves left all alone to walk all the way back to where we parked Zem the Wonder Bug - so farrrrr aaaawwwwaaaayyyyy! So, pic number one is Nerdy Cowboy 74 with He@then and the cache, pic number two is us trying to hitchike out, and pic number three is us dead of exhaustion on the road. Okay, so we have a flair for the dramatic. And when He@then fell over backward in his chair during the newly elected NEFGA officer's acceptance speeches, well, that was classic Flying Pig Farm! At least we never got Zem stuck like that poor unfortunate mini-van.... Anyway, it was great to meet you all - thanks for the GeoWoodstock coin and we promise to take the travel bugs we absconded with up to Georgia like we promised. Just one question, though - will Carl fit into a Georgia cache whole or should I cut him up first? Thanks for inviting us! We had a blast and the food was terrific! And we forgive you all for stranding us out of jealousy of our bushwhacking skills! (Sob, sniff, whine...)

| November 21 by GatoRx (1310 found) Great event! meadowmuffin and I had a great time running around this park, hitting the caching trail with our Toyota Brother and Subaru Sister (haven't had a chance to do that in a long while!), enjoying some great food, and installing our new NEFGA board members. Kudos to HSC on the pulled pork choice, and to everyone who brought food in, or had a hand in making this event a success. Congratulations to the new board members - I'm looking forward to seeing what y'all are able to accomplish in the coming year.
[view this log] | November 21 by Jester ! (2099 found) What an absolutely gorgeous day! Weather perfect, food perfect, caches perfect, friends perfect. I would only change one thing and that’s time. The day was too short - not enough time to visit with old friends, not enough time to meet and welcome all the new cachers, and not enough time for that BEAUTIFUL Jeep run. Very nice area for Jeeping!Nice job Champ. I know you worked hard on this event and it showed! Thank you for giving everyone a pleasant and memorial day! To the retiring board, thanks for a great year and the hard work. I hope that we members of the incoming board can do just as good a job! Yeah Shandscott....you missed out BIG TIME !!!!

| November 21 by AUFishHead (423 found) I made it to this event with my 2 yr old son for his first day of caching. Great event. Thanks HSC and all those involved for once again putting on a great event with great food. I'm sorry I had to slip out before all was over and didn't get a chance to say bye to many people, but the little guy had reached his end point. He found his first cache today and several others as we did our own little Jeep trail---Jeep stroller that is. Walked around 4.5 miles and he walked about 3/4 mile by himself. Pretty good for two yrs old. I think he is hooked as the only way I was able to get him in the truck was to tell him we would look for another cache on the way home (knowing he would be asleep in two minutes) as all he would say was "find box." He slept all the way home and then woke up and got out of the truck and started crying. Once I got him calmed enough to tell me what was wrong he said "want find box". He hadn't forgotten. Looks like I have a little caching buddy now! Hope to see everyone soon.
