Geocache Description:

Cache is at somewhere around 10,000 feet on the trail up to the peak of Mt. San Jacinto. Hike is somewhat strenuous if you take the Palm Springs tram, but a huge workout if you hike up from Idylwild. Cache is ~30-40 ft from the prescribed trail. Used a Garmin eTrex Legend, so I think the accuracy was set at 17ft.

We hid this cache at the highest point my daughter could make it considering the amount of daylight we had. Cache is easily seen from a certain position, NOT from the trail. Tried to take into consideration the snowfall factor at this altitude, so it's hidden where, barring a huge snowfall, you would still be able to find it, and it wouldn't float away in the snowmelt.

Since this is a tough cache, the first person to find it will have the choice to pick from:

  • Year 2000 Silver Eagle coin
  • ODDBALL magic trick
  • Mini rubiks cube
  • Carribeaner
  • Joke squirting frog
  • Sacagawea Dollar
  • 2 1/2 Gilder coin from Netherlands
  • Casino Dice from Cactus Petes in Nevada
