Geocache Description:

Match container, painted to......match. Located. Near Ottumwa's hydro electric dam. Located right off a paved trail, easy terrain.

The dam was built on the portion of the rerouted Des Moines River as a means to control/prevent flooding and provide clean power to the area. The area's lagoons are where the river once ran. Neat view of downtown and the Ottumwa High School. The area is popular fishing spot, walking running spot, and swimming spot at the nearby swimming complex.
