Geocache Description:

This is located on the 7.5 Mile Bike/Hike trail along the banks of Lake Marion in Santee State Park. Bring some tweezers and your instrument of writing to sign the log.

Santee State Park has a fee of $ 2.00 per person with discounts for seniors, military, and young adults. You will need to go to the rangers office or store to pay the fee. PLEASE, DO NOT PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. Park at the trail head at either cache #3 or #25.

This trail was designed to be fairly easy due to the rough terrain and dense tree cover.  All hides with the exception of #1 and #2 are hidden in the same manner and are white plastic tubes the size of a bison tube.  All should be within 30’ of the trail.  The first half of the trail is real easy to bike.  However, the second part is a little bit more difficult due to the thick mat of leaves.  Keep in mind you have tree cover overhead so the gpsr may be off a bit. If you decide to walk the trail, it should take about 5 hours.  Coordinates were averaged using a Garmin Oregon 450.

Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife.  You never know what you are apt to see.  Be aware of the creepy crawly creatures in the summertime.

Use caution when removing cache from host and be sure to replace as found.  If you find it on the ground, please replace it where it will be as the others are.  If you enjoy the challenge, be sure to leave a favorite point.
