The Deadly Sins are a series of caches to help you regain a part
of your lost soul. What’s that, you ask? You didn’t realize you
were missing a piece? Sorry to inform that you are, but help is
close at hand. Whether you admit it or not (and you can, if you
want, in the logbook or online log), I believe we have all
experienced at least one of these sins in the process of geocaching
(for some of us, perhaps more than one. Not that I know anything
about that).
Lust
For this sin, a good example may be when new caches are
published. Ah, that FTF rush when all’s fair, no matter how many
FTF’s you already have. And wait, there’s another new cache 5 miles
away? I’m going for that one too! I can be late for work today! And
then the logs pour in from other cachers missing out on what could
have been their first FTF ever. And you know what? You’d do it
again tomorrow if given the chance. That’s lust, my friends.
Now, the cache itself has nothing specifically to do with lust,
but it not a simple park and ride either. Perhaps the effort of
finding the cache will help cleanse the soul.
Each of the Deadly Sins has a code on the inside front cover
of the logbook and on the inside cover of the cache container. You
must take note of the code to truly become
Virtuous and retrieve the part of your soul that is
lost.
About the cache:
Park at the listed coordinates and stroll into the forest.. Yes,
this is a 5 terrain cache, so you’ll probably need some special
equipment to get the cache, but no watercraft needed. Terrain to GZ
is about a 2 star. What do you need? Here’s a list of what you
may want to bring with you:
Backpack
Walking stick
Compass (and know how to use it)
Duct Tape
Water
First Aid Kit
Zip Ties
Food
Light Source
Firestarter
Safety Whistle
Now, you won’t need everything on this list, but I included some
things you should have with you while walking in the woods.
Reception isn't the greatest in the forest, I had to use an
external antenna to get a good lock. Good luck, replace cache as
found and try not to break anything (on the cache or yourself)!
