How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Virtual Victory is a challenge to seek out and log 25 virtual caches.

In 2006 Geocaching.com stopped publishing new virtual caches. They have been replaced with the new category of challenges that are logged in their own right and do not count as geocaches. As time passes the virtuals may vanish so this challenge is to encourage you to seek out the virtuals while you can.

The difficulty and terrain ratings reflect how challenging logging 25 virtual caches may be with planning and travel being required. At the time this challenge was written up British Columbia had only 35 virtual caches and this challenge asks you to find and log and amount well over half the available caches in BC although you are not limited to BC only. The number of virtuals near BC include: Alberta-31, Saskatchewan-5, Alaska-12, Washington-81, and Idaho-96.

The requirements of this challenge are as follows:
1. Successfully find and log 25 virtual caches

2. For premium members it would be easiest to create a public bookmark called Virtual Victory and bookmark your caches as you log them. When your cache requirements are completed you would have 26 caches including this one.

3. The alternate approach will be to list each of the Virtual Caches names and their GC listing when you log your find.

4. In the interest of saving gas you may go and find the final physical cache anytime posting your visit there with a "note" until you have logged all 25 virtual caches. Once you have logged all 25 virtual caches and found the physical cache you can log this cache as a "find" and get your smiley face. Should you choose to log it as found without completing the challenge your log will be deleted. We want to preserve the honour of "find" for those who have earned it.

6. Virtual caches that you have already logged can be used to complete the challenge.

Extra Notes:

1. The final cache is located on Northern Vancouver Island on the way to Telegraph Cove.

2. There is parking along the side of the road or in a small parking area near the trail head.

3. The trailhead is at the sign for the Tsulton River Channel which was developed for Salmonid Stock Enhancement. The cache is only a short hike down the trail.

4. The difficulty and terrain rating of the physical cache is a 2.

5. Being a Challenge cache the owners will be able to log the find as well.

6. FTF can be claimed only by completing the challenge in its entirety.

We hope you enjoy the challenge and enjoy a victory with finding the virtuals before they vanish.

Congratulations to HB-vanislelady for FTF!!!
