'X' Marks the Spot Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

SummittDweller: Got a call from an unidentified muggle a short time ago and he said that he picked up the cache and, not knowing what it was, he took it home. The caller said he would get the container back to me soon...but that was several weeks ago. This cache is being replaced by "An 'Otter' Traditional Cache".

Geocache Description:

'X' Marks the Spot

A Cub Scouter's Cache

I was going to name this one "Blue and Gold" but the container is neither blue nor gold and, after all, it's not just for scouts. So, lacking a better name I decided to cheat a little. You see, I picked up this travel bug that wants to visit cachers or caches in alphabetical order. Silly me, the next letter on the list for this TB was "X". Now, where am I going to find a cacher or a cache with a name that begins with the letter "X"? Well, rather than giving myself a headache thinking about it I figured I'd just create a new destination for this bug. Also, if you look on the map (at least on MY map) there's this big "X" marking the cache location! How convenient.

Nothing too tricky about this cache. It's not a micro...yep, a real honest-to-goodness cammo ammo box. No puzzle solving required to find this one either.

The "trail" can be a little muddy after some rain so take care. Right now (May 2007) there are some patches of PI just off trail so tread carefully. You probably won't see any trash during your hunt but if you do please be sure to CITO. Also be wary of the wildlife in the area...this is their home so enjoy them from a distance but do not disturb if possible.

Enjoy the park and say hello to the friendly, helpful folks who manage it. This cache was placed with permission from Conservation Officer Bob Etzel. Thanks again Bob.
