Going back over my previous finds, I noticed that the cache "Hitec Retreat" had been archived. Since this was the target of the first cache experience I'd ever had (but not logged), and I worked not far away, I took it upon myself to relocate the cache to a nearby spot. And so we have "Hitec Retreat Relocated", which is just over .7 miles directly East from its original hiding spot, which was now so decayed that it could no longer be used as a hiding spot (when I retrieved the cache, it was just sitting there out in the open).
The original contents are pretty much what were in the cache when I found it: 3 candles, a CROFT keyloop, a Late Show pencil, a plastic jet, a Wild Thornberry bookbark, an audio tape, a plastic magnifying glass, a mini Koosh type ball, a plastic triceratops, a plastic pair of nerd glasses, a SCSI terminator, a plastic kazoo, rubber ugly teeth, a C.C. Cooper Agency keychain, a mini whistle, a arrow tip tool, 3 foil pencils, a DEFECTIVE sticker, a plastic army figure, a mini ring toss game, 2 rubber frisbees, and a Free Acres Ass'n button. I also swapped the original WG$ which was in it.
I believe the original name was due to the fact that it was on the Murray Hill Lucent campus (which was originally a Bell Labs campus), which many will remember as an R&D facility for new technology (or high tech things).
You might want to take the cache back to the trail while you log/trade, because it is very close to the trail (although I don't think a lot of people use this part of the reservation). Included in the cache are the original "High Tech" logbook and cache page, and there's a pocket for keeping the WheresGeorge bills during transit. Please use pages multiple times when you can, so the log book lasts a long time. Lastly, have fun strolling through the woods!
