A cache for Waddell Beach.
I was invited to go on a birthday geocaching Skyline to the Sea hike and decided to set out some additional caches for the birthday boy and friends to find. Waddell Beach, located across Highway 1 from the entrance to Big Basin Park, is known worldwide as one of THE spots for windsurfing. The steady strong North West winds and good surf provide ideal conditions for this demanding sport. Launching from the tops of incoming waves, the best windsurfers can complete full loops and continue on their way. With the strong winds and occasionally heavy surf, Waddell Beach is not recommended for novice wind surfers. Regular surfers, boogie boarders, and surf fishermen also find it an ideal spot to pursue their activities. A good place for bird watching is on the inland side of Hwy. 1 in the Theodore J. Hoover Natural Preserve. DOGS are not allowed in the park or on the beach. Please replace cache container exactly where you found it. For those who benchmark, there are two very easily identifiable benchmarks at the north (HT3644) and south (HT1549) ends of the bridge on the north-bound side. Enjoy! And happy caching! 50sumtin Note for finishing "50sumtin's Big Basin Park HQ to Sea Baker's Dozen!", note the clue in the cache container (do not remove clue) and cross Highway One to Waddell Beach. Sit down and watch the wind surfers as you put all of the clues together to determine the location of the 50sumtin's Big Basin Park HQ to Sea Baker's Dozen! cache.
