Welcome to the West Whiteland 250 series – the township is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year, and as part of the festivities, the Parks and Recreation Committee has set up this series of caches that will bring you to a number of our township parks. Throughout the township we have a variety of amenities that are available to residents of all ages. You can learn more about our township parks by visiting http://www.westwhiteland.org/pandr/default.aspx
There will be a prize awarded to the first to find all the caches in the series. A Parks and Recreation committee member will be monitoring the logs/postings and declare if/when we have a winner.
For all the caches, you are searching for a mid-size, hunter green, waterproof container (large enough to store a deck of cards), with the township’s 250th anniversary logo printed on the front. For the multi-stage caches, the containers have the coordinates for the next/final stage. In the final stage/single caches, the container contains a log book, the rules for West Whiteland Township Parks, and a few small pencils if you do not have a pen/pencil of your own. Our goal was to hide them well enough that muggles would not notice them, but easy enough for even a beginner geocacher to find. In the meantime, hopefully you will get a chance to see first-hand all the wonderful things our township parks have to offer.
Boot Road Park is one of the more recent additions to the West Whiteland Park system. The primary attractions include a playground, butterfly garden, walking trail, as well as baseball and softball fields. Please be sure to park in designated parking areas, not the roads or driveway into the park. Happy hunting!
