This cache has been archived.

Too Tall John: Well, this one's officially gone. I found what was keeping the cache in place but it was chewed up and the container itself gone.

Thanks to all who searched for this one.

Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. In order to find this cache, you need info from all 4 of the original Blackheart Joe caches: Blackheart Joe's Revenge, Blackheart Joe's Lair, Blackheart Joe: Marooned, and Blackheart Joe's Chest

The ratings reflect this fact.

Do take care with the final container, once you figure out the lock it might take a little extra jiggle to open, but NO PRYING, PLEASE!
A message from Blackheart Joe:

So, I hear some of ye land lubbers have been askin' about me treasure! It won't be easy to get at it, I can assure ye o' that! Truth be told, I couldn't even get at it this winter, there just be too much snow! I must say, that's sayin' a lot, since me an me crew's sailed to the very ends of this flat earth.

That's right, I said flat earth! Since I been ta the edge an' seen the horrors that lie in wait over the edge, don't ye try an' tell me different! Blasted fools, tryin' to tell me we live on a ball! I'll show ye!

Below ye'll find the questions ye must answer to prove that yer worthy of finding me chest.

In Blackheart Joe's Lair: What are you to sign the log book with if you don't bring a pen?
1 2 3 4 5

In Blackheart Joe's Revenge: What is Backheart Joe's last name?
6 7 8 9

In Blackheart Joe: Marooned: There are some nautical directions written on the container. The answer is a four-letter one.
10 11 12 13

Now that ye have these answers, plug them into the spots below. I promise ye will rot before ye figure the upper part out!

18 24 9 21 10 1 16 11 0 17 4 0 23
10 11 12 8 7 12 5 8 13 1 2 3 8

Once ye have this figured out, you have another puzzle to solve. Once done, I wrote a little verse that will lead you to me chest from the coordinates you get.

Across the water,
Then fourty yards right,
A shattered mast,
You should sight.

Know that following these directions will require wading, but during most seasons, ye'll be able to find a dry way around.

Once ye find th' treasure, don't jest go a' tearing into it! There's one final message you need to study before ye can open me chest!

"The treasure inside is what you seek,
You must open the chest to take a peek,
Brute force isn't needed, or even a rock,
Just turn the key to open the lock."
