Abercrombie mountain is another in a series of caches I am placing in quadrangles that have no caches..
Abercrombie is the second highest peak in eastern washington.It is the highest peak in stevens county.To get there go north through Colville.Turn right on third st.(highway 20).Go 1.2 miles and turn onto Alladin rd.Follow this rd. for 25.4 miles to the Deep Lk. turn.Turn right and drive 7.3 miles to the Silver creek Rd. Turn right and follow for 9.8 miles(stay to your left at all Y's)The last couple miles are bad roads but cars have made it but I will advise to use a truck.At the trailhead #117 the Elevation is 4,090..At the top the elevation is 7,308.This hike is 6.5 miles and takes about 4 hours round trip from the trailhead.Take plenty of water. I left a 2 gallon bucket painted brown filled will eagle stuff.You will see the view as the eagle does.I also left a FTF & a stf prize.This is not a theme cache so trade as you like.
