Boat access only! Access is on the East side of the island. The cache is hidden near the start of a 3km trail. The other side of the island is popular for cliff jumping.
Copper Island is the only natural island in the Shuswap Lake. According to legend, Ta'Lana the great bear sleeps under the island in a large cave. Copper Island has some examples of pictographs.
The community of Sorrento was so named because Copper Island resembles the Isle off Capri of the coast of Sorrento, Italy.
