The Windermere Ferry drags its way east and west all day every day except during extremely windy weather and when it is out of commission for servicing. There is no parking at the cache location. The nearest parking is the large car park to the north of the Ferry road. There is free roadside parking in Bowness (if you can find a space) and a nice walk across Cockshott Point near the lake shore to Ferry Nab.
Please be aware that this spot can be very busy so take care when retrieving and replacing the cache that you are not seen. This is the seventh replacement of this popular cache since the original 'Regular' cache was placed in December 2007. Arborial vandals from SLDC demolished the original hiding place with a chainsaw and in early spring 2014, the second hiding place was also lost. In May 2014 the cache was replaced in a new guise as a "feathered friend" close to the original location. This lovely cache has since been muggled on several ocassions and, unfortunatelty we have had to replace it with something less attractive!
