DO NOT attempt this cache if you don’t like a long bushwhack off trail. Bring a map, compass, and backwoods skills.
(Did I say this is Eastern Timber Rattlesnake territory).
This cache is a small log-only container that is hidden a good distance from any trail at ~1280' elevation. We placed it in conjuction with our other two caches, Tongue French Lower and Tongue French Connection along our bushwhack route to French Point Mtn. If you hunt all three this will roughly guide you along our route. It is not an easy cache and will take a good measure of effort and off-trail bushwhacking skill. There is a significant hike and elevation gain, although if you plan well it can be a pleasant, gradual climb.
We use our own route past this point that we pioneered to reach French Point Mtn. Read the description for our Tongue French Connection cache for more info.
Parking is near the Clay Meadow trailhead on Rt 9N at N43 37.763 W73 36.502.
