Best approached from the North East rather than any other direction - there's plenty of parking by the roadside. Approached from this direction the public footpath shown on the OS map has, in one place, been ploughed over and turned into a field but the new route is obvious and there are small arrows indicating this.
The cache
In a small clip-it plastic box with room for the log and pen and a number of other items. Like the cache Creature Comforts there is a variety of wildlife on the way to the cache, and once there it should be found fairly quickly.
Afterwards
Enjoy the scene that's around you - the beautiful long line of trees to the north, and the windmill to the west. This side of it is Windmill Animal Farm which boasts a number of interesting activities, and includes a captivating miniature railway with steam locos painted Scottish Region blue, stations and a good long track length. Also, hills to the east can be espied - in the distance Winter Hill near Bolton, and closer Ashurst Beacon and Parbold, where no doubt a number of caches have been hit by thine self.
