GO GREEN! A Celebration in
Conservation:
Following the CITO event be sure to check out the Go Green event
which is open to the general public. The Go Green public event is
rain or shine.
Every year in association with Earth Day Fullersburg Woods
puts on a "Go Green!" program. The Go Green program involves
presenters by many groups ranging from the EPA, to outdoor
retailers, and out door enthusiasts and includes fun activities
targeting kids and families. They've had rock climbing, live
raptors up close and personal and much more.
This will be the fourth year GoGeocaching.com volunteers have
manned a booth presenting geocaching to the public. The FPD
provides us with GPS units and temporary caches for the public to
hunt.
GO GREEN! Volunteers
Needed:
At the GoGeocaching.com booth we'll be explaining geocaching and
our CITO activities to muggles. We show them how to use a GPS and
hunt for their very first geocache. Our display includes various
posters, sample geocaches and pamphlets on geocaching. The Forest
Preserve District of Dupage provides GPS units and places temporary
caches stocked with trinkets so the muggles can go on their very
first cache adventure.
The booth needs to be staffed from 12:00-4:00PM and if you can help
out for 1-2 hours or longer your help will be appreciated. Note
that volunteering for the booth does not earn a smiley but does
bring lots of smiles to the faces of others. Contact
Mike@GoGeocaching.com to learn more about volunteering to help at
the booth.
