Geocache Description:

Updated with a tupper container, non camouflaged for an easy find. Nice secluded area near the reservoir. Open trail from the Natchez trace bridge, bushwacking not required.

NOTE: 8/20/08-Coordinates updated as a log (32 27.109, 090 03.957)
This one, unlike many of my caches around the Rez, was placed while hiking with the family this past weekend. It is on dry ground even though the map star may show otherwise. Although you can bushwack in from the Boyd House stop on the Trace, the easiest access is from an abandoned road under the Trace bridge just south of the Boyd Site and just North of the North Bay harbor. This road is the 2nd entrance possibility for the new Lost Rabbit subdivision (there are only 2 bridges that allow access under the Trace to Lost Rabbit). The cache is in a blue tube container and about 4 feet off the ground in a typical cache hiding spot. I was getting 15' accuracy when getting the coords. There is a small pond just North of the cache and an old homesite in the area according to a previous finder to Lost Rabbit 2, but I didn't come across it...I think the bushwacking route is required to find it.

There is a small clearing that gives an awesome view of the Rez:the dam, the huge houses, the Trace, the big grass hill at the Trace overlook area, and the Pelahatchie Bay area way off in the distance. As we all know, the original Lost Rabbit 2 cache has fallen to the high dollar develop of the 200+ acres known as Lost Rabbit. I placed this cache on a thin strip of Reservoir property between the bank of the Rez and Natchez Trace land...an area that will be unaffected by the development. Lost Rabbit 2 was my 2nd find-after the original Lost Rabbit.
