This is the starting point for Birdin's adventures on this great bike trail, part of the Rails to Trails system. This is the West Salem Bike Depot, a community effort in which our son, LamStauk, had a part. Kids were a big part of the fundraising efforts to have this great shelter built, and when time for the groundbreaking ceremony had arrived, they all were there, shovels in hand! You aren't likely to see birds any more exciting than pigeons or sparrows at this point, but keep going...more than one life bird has been spotted while riding the trail!
Stealth will be required, especially on Wednesday afternoons in the summer, when a farmer's market takes place here.
If you need a little more of a geocaching break, pedal over to the Village Park to find one placed by SnarfyDog, called "Village Park."
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to James Moorhead of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resouce managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
