Geocache Description:

Cache Mob tries something entirely different - a Cache Mob without the Flash

The Cache Mob hits the water for a paddling adventure

Arrive before 8:00am - gather and then go out paddling

A Cache Mob happens when a group of Geocachers get together - you never know what will happen next.

The Event Schedule will be:

8:00am - Meet & Greet at parking coordinates - exchange TBs and tales
8:05am - Sign log and take picture
8:10am - Hit the water
Rest of the morning - Paddling on the Occoquan

Cache Mob is planning on enjoying the morning touring the Occoquan Water Trail while chatting with your fellow geocachers!  We look forward to seeing all of our geocaching friends and meeting those of you whom we've not had the pleasure of meeting yet out on the trails!

You can bring your own boat - kayak / canoe / etc. - or rent one there.

From an Email from Fountainhead Park -
We are open 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset for boat rentals, as of now that is 6:30AM-7:45PM, with the boats being due back in by 6:30PM.

We have about 25 three-man Jon boats, 6 four-man Jon boats, 14 Single-person kayaks, 7 Double Kayaks, and 6 Canoes which can seat 2-3 people.

Our rental policy is first come first serve, so we cannot make any reservations for your group, but if you were planning on coming as early as 8:00AM we will likely have plenty of boats available to accommodate your group.

If you are interested, we do have a Moonlight Kayak Paddle Tour scheduled for May 2nd in the evening starting at 8:00PM and going until 10:30PM after the park is closed. It is lead by our park's naturalist who gives a guided tour of the reservoir and teaches patrons about basic kayaking techniques and the habitat, wildlife, and history around the reservoir.
