The Get Lost (In) NE crew is doing a CITO in conjunction with Lincoln Parks and Rec. Dept that is hosting a Keep Wilderness Park Beautiful day on April 17 (the CITO DAY) The have enlisted our help with cleaning the areas of the parks that other groups are unable to get to for various reasons. They have asked our help with cleaning along the roads that go around the park. It will be a big job b/c it is said to be the worst area but we believe that geocachers are UP to the challenge! Here is what we have so far:
April 17th Wilderness Park in Lincoln
8:30am-12noon
The Coordinates is the parking lot for the Geocachers to park and meet in. We will then go down the road just a few feet to meet the entire group of volunteers.
We will clean up beside the roads of the park (trash, aluminum, etc)
LES (Lincoln Electric System) will be providing all the groups that volunteer that day with Pizza and Pop after the clean up. (If you register before April 14th see below for info) Planning on eating around 11:30-11:45am approx.
10 temporary Micro caches will be placed in the park
Locations and clues will be provided the day of the event and the caches will remain the entire day saturday and then removed Sunday afternoon
We would like to strongly encourage the event, it is for a great reason and should be ALOT of fun for everyone and great time to meet people. Adults and children are welcome, but we must say for purpose of safety that as it was in Mandan park that children MUST be supervised b/c we will be along roadsides and we dont want to see ANYone hurt children or adults. Safety vests will be provided for the Geocaching crew by the Lincoln Parks and Rec. Dept. for safety.
There will be port-a-potties in the meeting area.
Parking is slightly limited but all are welcome, car pooling is encouraged.
Latex gloves will be provided, if chilly you may want to bring something warmer.
Trash Bags will be provided for Trash, Recyclables, and Bio-Hazadous material.
Volunteers will not be expected to pick up any bio-hazardous materials (needles, etc.) should any be found they are to be pointed out and ONLY trained workers will remove these items.

These is no cost to go to the event but we need to be registered in order to get the pop and pizza. Please register before April 14th.
