Fun walk around Rockford Park in Wilmington. Can be a long hike or a short-but-steep climb hike depending on the paths chosen.
This cache was placed to capture the spirit of the original cache placed by yowza803. In those days, there was no geochecker. If you have trouble, message the CO through geocaching.com.
Part of the Wilmington City park system, most of the land was given by philanthropist, William Poole Bancroft. The park has one of the most recognized icons of Wilmington - Rockford Tower. Also, it has facilities for tennis, football, sledding, and has a dog exercise area. Managed as a part of the Delaware State Parks system, please follow all the appropriate rules for safety and consideration of others. There is no fee for entering Rockford Park and parking is widely available. The park is open 8am to sunset.
The following are the clues for the actual cache found at N 39° 46.ABC W 075° 34.3AB. The actual cache is close to the trail so please use your judgment to keep the cache safe and secret. Fill in the missing numbers and good luck! You’re in a river valley so the signal can be iffy. Oh, and for best results, we suggest you park at either Stage 1 (posted coordinates) or the trailhead (see waypoints). Stay on the paths to get to #2 and #3.
