Geocache Description:

NOTE: the cache is NOT at the listed coordinates; you must first solve a puzzle to determine the real cache coordinates!

Once upon a time, someone came up with a dance called the 'Texas two-step'. ShadowTiger and GreenWoodTurner decided that it was only appropriate for Corvallis to have a dance named after it. With that in mind, we came up with the 'Corvallis 2626-Step' dance. The dance is pretty straightforward, but we'll provide some instructions anyways (since no one was able to figure out the puzzle without any rules being provided).

To locate this cache, you must first solve the attached puzzle. There is only one possible solution for this puzzle! If you find that you are not generating an unambiguous answer, then you probably are not solving the puzzle correctly.

In order to solve this puzzle, it may help to know some of the rules. Unfortunately, by defining the rules, this cache no longer deserves a 4-star rating for difficulty. We won't yet provide all of the rules; however, there is probably enough information here to enable most puzzle solvers to locate the cache coordinates:

  • The name of the cache is key to solving the puzzle.
  • The dance floor is not infinitely large (as some have speculated); its size is exactly as shown on the puzzle board.
  • You can dance over a square containing an 'X', but you can't stop on one.
  • You can only stop on a given numeric square once; in other words, a given square can only be used once as part of the final cache coordinates.
  • You will know you have solved the puzzle, when you have danced across the floor, generated a 15 digit number (the cache coordinates) and then used the verification link to check your answer. If you ever have to guess which way to dance next, then you're not solving the puzzle correctly! There is one, and only one way to unambiguously dance across this dance floor!

The only question left is: where do I start dancing?

Please be sure to rehide the cache exactly as you found it, to prevent muggling

Good luck learning this new dance craze! Oh ... this cache is in no way associated with Step2626, nor is it being posted as a challenge to Step2626 :-)

The cache is an altoids container; FTF will find a geocoin and some other small goodies.
