Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the Decorah Trout Hatchery rearing stations. You are looking for a match stick container. BYOP

Here you can view and feed the rainbow, brook and brown trout at various stages of their growth and development(you will need quarters to buy trout pellets). Be sure to take in the view of the limestone Pillars across the way to the East and the World famous Eagle nest in the backyard across the road to the North. The eagles have now moved to a new nest downstream from that house(just past the bridge). The placement here has changed since the original GZ left. Please avoid walking upon any of the landscaped area. You are looking for a matchstick container which is a stretch to reach without leaving the grass but most should be able to do this without causing any or very little disturbance.

If you are doing Adventure Labs, one of the stages of the Adventure Lab "Decorah: A Driftless Adventure" is nearby.

Special thanks to Brian Malaise, Fisheries Biologist, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Decorah Fish Hatchery, for granting permission to establish this traditional cache.
