Geocache Description:

Mamma Mia is a series of four caches with a bonus micro for the walk home. The coordinates for this, the fourth (and originally the final) cache of the series, are hidden in the first 3 caches - GC1JJB5, GC1JJD3 and GC1JJGD. The co-ordinates to the bonus micro (GC1MYB3) are hidden in this cache.

This cache is a small lock pot at coordinates North 51° AB.CDE East 000° FG.HIJ

The coordinates given at the start are for parking and NOT the cache!

THE SERIES

The series has been set up to be undertaken on one walk (in numerical order) but each of the first 3 stages can be done individually. It will probably take 2 hours to complete in one go.

The route for ALL stages is, completely, over the bridleway/public footpath network – do not be tempted to stray – ie across crops – even if your GPS tells you to! Stick to the path.

With mini-cachers in mind we've placed pots throughout the series - although a 'giant' micro had to be used for Mamma Mia 2B. All should prove to be straight forward finds. In the event that trees effect GPS signals the clues should suffice.

This series take you close to two other caches - a church micro (GC1HE9G) and a traditional cache which has been in situ for some while (GC86C3) - so a chance to find 7 caches in 1 go!

MAMMA MIA

Some years ago I had the privilege of owning a beautiful chestnut Arab mare called Mia and enjoyed riding around these bridleways. I parted company with Mia when my daughter was born. 9 years on I'm enjoying the countryside again, this time geocaching with my daughter as The Kitty Cachers - usually with her singing Abba songs to keep us going on our treks. “Mamma Mia” therefore seems a fitting title for this series.

The route of the first 3 caches follows Mia out on an early morning hack – we hope mini-cachers enjoy the tale.

PARKING
We suggest parking in Old Church Lane - N 51° 38.660 E 000°22.925 for the whole series.

TERRAIN

The route is over bridleways and is generally good. However, we’ve rated the terrain as 2.5 due to the mud in winter/wet weather– it can take your wellies off! You have been warned!
