Los Angeles, the second most populous city in the US was founded in 1781 and incorporated on April 4, 1850. Los Angeles is large boasting a perimeter of 342 miles. In 1900 the population of LA was only about 102,000 but it grew to over 3.4 million by 1990.Oil was discovered in 1892 which helped Los Angeles become one of the leading oil producing areas in world; although it has long since fallen from the list of leading oil producers there are still oil wells to be seen around town. Los Angeles has twice played host to the summer Olympic Games, in 1932 and in 1984. Los Angeles is home to dozens of parks and neighborhoods, each with its own unique flavor. This cache is in downtown Los Angeles where parking can be difficult and expensive during the week. Since you need to plan on walking at least several blocks from a parking space we have set the terrain at a "2".

Where is the cache? Everything that you need to solve the puzzle is on this page somewhere, just remember: It's All in Downtown Los Angeles.

Took the train from Claremont to explore Little Tokyo and surrounds today.

WOOHOO!!! Spent WAY too long trying to figure this one out. A small hint, and then it came easily. Even so, it took around 30 minutes to decrypt once I had figured it out. This was definitely the most complex puzzle cache I have ever solved. The find was quick and painless!!! TFTC!!!

Had time to grab one cache while downtown. Worked out the puzzle last night with a little nudge from Blaa. Probably should have done better on my own but I don't think he gave too much away! Cache is in a great location cause even though the city was buzzing with muggles GZ was quiet as a mouse. Signed log. Left small coin..took small travelling token. Thanks!

It all began in Central Pk. I'm familiar with a tough puzzle Blaa has put out in NYC and recognized the name while scanning for potential caches to do on our two day visit to LA. Although I,ve yet to solve Blaa's CP cache, I am familiar with the inspiration for this puzzle. So that part of the process was easy.

we woke up around dawn at a hotel very near the cache site and decided to go out for a quick grab before breakfast. Alas, quick was not in the cards. Not surprisingly, the GPS behaved much like it does back in NYC and its readings would jump from 8m to over 100m away while standing in one spot. I did, however narrow things down to a very likely area. But that came after searching another area far too long.

It's getting late. Muggles are beginning to come to work. We're hungry and it's John's birthday so I call off the search and we get on with our day. And it turns out to be a great day with everything else we planned to do working out perfectly.

Thanks to modern technology, I'm able to shoot off an email to Blaa at breakfast and thanks to a quick response we're able to make a retun visit in the afternoon armed with enough information to know I was on the right track this morning. I probably came within inches of it, but second time around found it within seconds.

Yeah! Insert happy dance and there was room enough to leave mumu fish #1546 (visit link) .

Cheers,
Lynn and John

We solved the riddle at home a few weeks ago. It was a pleasure, and also the real search for the cache. Good hiding place.
