Geocache Description:

First in The Lord of the Rings Series #1-#9
A tribute to J.R.R. Tolkien's great works.
As Sam said in The Two Towers: “It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. . . . Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. . . . There’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for.”

“The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.”
Like Frodo you must leave the shire to begin your quest. Heed Gandalf’s advice to Frodo on the course to take: “Towards danger; but not too rashly, nor too straight.”
This is a quest! As you strive to complete the series, beware of equestrians, standing water, mud, biting insects, thorns, and poison oak. Go in order from LOTR #1-#9 and you will make a loop of approximately 2+ miles. Bushwhacking out of order may be impossible due to fences and you will walk through standing water much of the rainy season! Please rehide each cache as found with cover provided.
On large hairy feet, hobbits stride and stand
But boots of rubber work best for man.
