This is the second in a series of Kayak/Canoe put-in locations on Long Island.
Satterly Landing is a little known Town of Brookhaven dock and parking area which provides alternate access to Mt. Sinai Harbor. The landing is located away from Power Boat Traffic. Harbor tides affect the area but it is a relatively easy put-in at all times. At low tide you may have to deal with a little mud when launching a kayak. Parking is within 15 to 20 feet from where you can launch your kayak or canoe. Parking is within 20 feet of the cache.
Be sure to enjoy the views across the harbor and particularly the waterfowl. When replacing the cache please beware of Muggles. Since the spot provides a great view you are likely to encounter one or two cars parked with the passengers looking at the water.
