Bough Beech Visitor Centre is a converted 19th
century Oast House adjacent to a large reservoir and nature
reserve. It used to part of several Winkhurst farm buildings before
the reservoir was built in the 1960's.
The ancient Tudor farmhouse of Winkhurst was moved to the
Weald &
Downland Open Air Museum when the reservoir was built. A new
Winkhurst Farmhouse was built at the other end of the farm.
Facilities
The Oast House facilities include toilets, a picnic barn as well
as a small shop offering information regarding the nature reserve
and the work carried out by the Wild Life trust.

April to October 11am-5pm Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and
Bank Holidays
November to March Sundays only 11am-4pm
Parking
There is a small amount of parking next to the Oast House when
it is open but there is parking along the road near the view of the
reservoir at all times.
The Cache
The cache is in a plastic container with a screw lid. When
placed it contained: log book, pencil, key ring, TB Japanese Coin
and other small items.
2 mile Circular Walk
If you have parked near the Oast house or reservoir, climb over
the style by the cache to head towards "Climbing not your
style" After finding cache turn left and follow road passed 4
houses and a farm. Take the footpath at the bottom of the hill (it
will be the second one signed posted on the left) Follow footpath
with wood on your left and then diagonally left to style. Keep
following this footpath to go back to the Oast House and to find
another cache (Ye Olde Style).

your left facing down towards the Oast House, head diagonally
