Coordinates will put you in front of a building with the following
hours on the door : Tues-Sat 10-5, Sun 1-5, Mon closed. Enter
during these hours and get a brochure on the Urban Trail. Walk the
entire thing if you have time (& there are guided tours of it
on Sat afternoons) and also enjoy the Trolley Tours if you're new
in town.
I contemplated a cache on the trail, but communicating with
those responsible for the monuments proved that the maintence is
regular and frequent & I didn't want to damage some of the neat
exhibits along the way. Please respect the hard work they do to
keep this open for the public and pick up any trash you find along
the way. Local artists, groups, and individual contributions went
in to making this one of our special treats for out-of-towners.
Follow the Period "The Times of Thomas Wolfe" and #21 is the one
you seek. There is a generator hooked up so when you turn it (which
you can do; go on, you know you want to!) it plays sounds from
everything on its face. However, to prove you were here answer
these two questions.
1) Who is this marker in memory to?
2) What are the 3 creatures pictured on the back?
DO NOT POST ANSWERS; email them to me to get credit.
Enjoy the trail!
