How Geocaching Works
This cache is placed in an area with a spectacular view once you take the small hike to get there! You are looking for a small container with enough room for small trading items.
We named this cache "Eagle's-eye view" because of the Eagles that gather along this hillside during late winter/early spring, in search of food. Some years they come in groups. One year we counted more than 50 eagles within a quarter mile strip along Otis Road. Their presence is truly amazing.
Due to the steep terrain, the best (and easiest) way to reach this cache is by parking at the Cedar River boat ramp and heading up the hill south of the cache. A more challenging grab is to near GZ and head straight up the hill {cliff}. Care MUST be taken when attempting this cache, especially in wet, muddy or snowy conditions. Terrain may be VERY slippery and soft at times, so please use caution.
Permission to place this cache was granted by the Cedar Rapids Parks Department.
CONGRATS TO JDLC1936 FOR THE FTF IN THE DARK!
