Wanted to get my first cache set out and decided to make it an easy
one. Got about ten to fifteen minutes? Then drive out Northern
Lights Blvd. and park at the lot located at N 61 11.769, W 149
58.631. From here, you'll have a nice paved trail to walk on for a
ways before heading into the birch forest for an easy stroll to
this cache.
The cache is a large rectangular tupperware container (big enough
to hold a loaf of bread) that has been covered with duct tape to
give it a unique Alaskan character. :)
Be sure to visit the Earthquake Park exhibit and read about the
events that took place here in 1964. A whole lot of shaking went
on!
Update 8/11/09 with cache replacement:
The container is a small container vice regular (the photos will
not help) and only has room for smaller items. Please, no swag. The
container is not hidden the same way as the original. As it was
previously, the cache is not snow-friendly. When found, be very
careful to erase your caching traces. This place is often visited
by muggles (accompanied by choice beverages). I would rank this
with a Difficulty/Terrain of 2.0/2.0 to start and see what the logs
poll.
