Cache is located on a trail off of the open flag pole area. Trail
has a slight grade, but children will do well.
Flag Pole Hill is a well-known Huntingdon landmark. It can be seen
from most of the downtown area and also from Rt 22 by McDonalds.
From the top of the hill there is a good view of the Huntingdon
area which you can enjoy from several benches or a picnic table.
To get to Flag Pole Hill, follow 5th street until it ends at the
flag pole. The sign by the lower parking area says that flag pole
road is open from dawn until dusk, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Otherwise add about 10 min. for the walk up the driveway to the
flagpole, unless you go straight up through the brush.
As you get to the top, you will see the old reservoir and then
the current blue watertower. The road goes to the left of the
watertower to the flag pole area. The trail connecting on the right
of the watertower leads to several miles of wide, level
trails.

November 21 by r.e.s.t.seekers (570 found) We were in town for T to play percussion with a Juniata College ensemble. The directions to the area were nice, as the roads weren't in a nice grid, nor all two ways. We enjoyed the hike up, although we found a much shorter way back down. The hint threw us off for a while, because Marvin, the GPS unit led us to what seemed the right spot. Fortunately, Marvin settled down and we found the cache. We took the candy, as it should not be in a cache. We took a dollar and a baseball duckie TB. We left a lanyard, a halloween puzzle, and a PSU football pin. Thank you for showing us a very impressive flag.
