The terrain is easy to walk and the area is easy to access via car, bike or train/bus and the view and possibilities abound for enjoying the coast!
This chache is in the area of Tsurugi Saki Lighthouse is located at the southeastern corner of the Miura Peninsula, marking the west entrance to Tokyo Bay, about 13 km (8 mi) south of Yokosuka. A tanuki (raccoon dog) was spotted in the very spot we hid it. This animal is so rare the local member of our team had only seen one in the zoo. Cache container is unique and holds a super strong magnet, a monster toy, shell, logbook & mini-pen.
There are hours of enjoyment of coastline and beaches here if you would like to stay and enjoy (at low tide you can catch iwashi/sardines in the rock pools for a fresh sashimi lunch & if the weather is nice & you like snorkeling this is a great area!) By train you can take the Keikyu south to Miurakaigan station, then the #35 bus to the last stop. The lighthouse is about 1 km from the bus stop. There is a restroom in the lighthouse area and a little, old snack/grocery store along the way.
