I named and
placed this cache near one of the first benchmarks I found
that hadn't been logged yet. The benchmark is officially
recorded as "941 3745 TIDAL 4" in the NGS logs.
Obvious clue: first find the benchmark (GU3223) and then look
for the cache. (Duh!)
To reach the cache you will need to stand in a residential
street on a small hill near the Boardwalk, and you will have views
of Santa Cruz from the cache site. Depending upon traffic, this may
not be safe for young children unattended (or for some adults I've
watched crossing streets, too!) Speed limit on the street is 25
mph.
Parking in the area is available but metered after 10 a.m., so
depending upon the time of day, you may need to drop a quarter (or
two if you take a long time!)
Stealth will probably be necessary, so those who have them,
bring your invisibility cloaks. (I wouldn't know: I placed this
cache at 5 a.m. under the light of the full Rose Moon!)
The cache is about 1.25" in diameter and 4 inches long. It
contains a log sheet. Bring pen or pencil.
Enjoy! And happy caching!
