Geocaching

A Sport, a hobby, an addiction. Some cachers may use all of these terms to describe geocaching. Geocaching is just 1 of 4 parts of Groundspeak. The others are Waymarking.com, WhereIGo.com and CITO. Geocaching.com was launched in September of 2000 as a hobby by Jeremy Irish, Elias Alvord and Bryan Roth. This hobby has got many of us out of our chairs to explore the outdoors whether if it's hiking, 4x4, or just urban caching and for some expanded our opportunities of adventure. Along with getting out, some caches involve puzzles, learning, and exploring. There are many avenues to Groundspeak and I'm sure you'll find your niche. Thanks to Groundspeak, we are having fun and staying active and at the same time meeting other cachers. As you have or will hear, "the world is our playground".

Somewhere among the 40 caches you will find important information on the inside lid of the containers and/or on the log books as well. Your job is to complete the series to find these coordinates. You're searching for a ammo can and is nicely stocked and not too difficult to find. This was not intended to fool anyone except the unexpected. Located in the open desert please try to keep any tire markings to the existing roads. By foot is highly recommended and very rewarding. This is open land and does not really mean that this open season to create more tire marked trails. This will give you a chance to take in the desert landscape or what we have left. .

This Series has a little bit of everything ranging from 2-wheel drive, high-clearance, and some 4x4 access to a couple of smash and grab, some trekking, and a little hiking. You may encounter some pin striping if you choose a straight route. The hides and terrain are a mix of things. There are fenced areas that cannot be trespassed. You will find an area of posted signs warning you that there is an area to stay out of nearby. You will have access to the roads. If unsure, you can verify info with the “claim” located in containers near the claim.

This Series was scouted and placed by the Scrabble Dogs and I in a total of 9 hours. This includes prepping, coordinate verifications, and taking in the views. What this means is that you will be able to accomplish this series in less time unless you prefer to take in the views and explore the area. You will find yourself in a secluded part of the desert. Bring some lunch and snacks, and most importantly, bring plenty of water, especially if you’re here during the spring and summer months. You’ll want to be prepared regardless of the conditions. Like always, never stick your hand in places you can’t see as you will be in critter country. Please respect the Desert and stay on designated roads.

Enjoy the series and safe caching.
