Road Trip Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Odyssey X: We've had a pretty good run with this one with 460 finds in almost 7 YEARS ! Unlike my others in Tyler, which simply succumbed to the elements, this one seems to be in an area that's seeing more and more foot traffic, as evidenced by the trampled appearance as well as discarded bottles, cans, cups, etcetera. Thanks to everyone who enjoyed it while it was here, as well as those who helped in keeping it maintained over the years. [:D] TFTF (Thanks For The Fun) [;)]

Geocache Description:

This particular area reminded me very much of a similar area we explored a few years ago on an abandoned portion of US Route 66 in Missouri. The difference is there are no remains of the old wooden motel cabins in Tyler Park, but the fallen, "abandoned" trees are much the same. Couldn't name the cache a "Route 66" anything, since it is hundreds of miles away from the nearest part of the "Mother Road". The theme of "Road Trip" is anything you might use on your road trip or buy at souvenier stands along the way. Starting off with some Rt 66 stuff, a mini tire gauge, a couple of Geocoins from different states, some key fobs, a couple of Hot Wheels cars, etc. etc. (oh yeah, the signature "GEObuck" and Webkinz cards in the bag with the log book). For the FTF, there's a Rt 66 Coffee Mug, an unactivated Rt 66 Geocoin and a FTF pin. Please rehide the cache as well or better than you found it.
