How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

You are searching for a small, camouflaged pill keychain FOB with a small log. Please bring your own writing utensil.

Satellite signals in this area are very clean, so you should experience little difficulty locating this particular spot. This cache was previously owned by “Da Bedza Brown.” Trace Amigos adopted this cache when he moved out of town. The actual cache location has changed to a more accessible, picturesque spot complete with a place to rest. This cache is sheltered at the "base of an angled restraint."

Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo “discovered” this portion of Ventura County for Spain in 1542. The land was eventually included in the Rancho El Conejo land grant by the Spanish government, and in 1966 construction began on planned community that is now part of Westlake Village. This particular cache location is the exact site of the eastern-most tip of the original property landscaped around the man made lake from which the community takes its name.

For those of you who are “muggle weary,” this spot should bring some much needed relief. Park in the business parking lot across from the “river,” and walk around to the cache site. Once you've located the cache and signed the log, rest your tired bones and admire the traffic. This is a classically over-landscaped area that requires constant attention from the gardeners, so please be careful to place the cache back the way you found it with a little cover for good measure.

As noted in the description above, you are searching for a small, camouflaged keychain FOB. There is a small rubber o-ring to seal out moisture, but it doesn't work unless you screw it back on tightly. Not too tight, but tight enough to keep the water out. Also, exercise caution reaching for this cache, as small critters can easily surprise you in small spaces such as this.
