The Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute (MFRI) of the University of Maryland is the State's comprehensive training and education system for emergency services. The Institute plans, researches, develop, and delivers quality programs to enhance the ability of emergency services providers to protect life, the environment, and property. MFRI is the State's fire and emergency service training agency.
The Institute has more than 70 years of experience in providing training to protect the citizens of Maryland. Over four hundred certified instructors serving as part-time faculty support more than fifty full-time faculty and staff members. MFRI programs rely on the knowledge and resources of the University of' Maryland system to obtain service and assistance to serve you. The University of Maryland is a not-for-profit governmental agency of the State of Maryland.
