There is still a sewage treatment plant on the
far side by the bay, and on some days the wind blows from the
bay, bringing with it a yucky stench.
However, it's a wonderful place for a nice walk, hike, bike
ride, dog run, jog, etc. If there's no wind or it's blowing out to
the bay, you won't smell much at all (except maybe the salt
marshes, as they can also stink sometimes).
Bayfront Park is open from 7am to 1/2 hour after sunset... don't
get caught or you'll be locked in!
There are multiple approaches to this cache. There are two
parking lots you can use (see Waypoints listed below).
We recommend parking in Lot 2 (the last one you can park in)
because it is closest and not too difficult of a hike, and the
hills are smaller. Parking Lot 1 has a bathroom and water
fountain.
You can either hike over the hills (there are paths all the way and
it's not that steep), or walk around the park on the flat gravel
path, which is also an easy walk.
The cache is just 100 feet from a gravel path through foot-tall
grass, depending on the angle you take.
The cache is a 4 quart Tupperware container with
green lid filled to the brim with lots of stuff!
