Geocache Description:

(a geodeez challenge cache)

Enjoy up to a 1.4 mile hike on well formed trails through a spectacularly secluded greenbelt deep in the heart of scenic Federal Way, a definite YAPIDKA (yet another park I didn't know about) moment. Coordinates above are for parking at the trailhead...

Greetings all my geocaching brothers and sisters, lets all join hands and admit how we've been using our time...chasing geodeez caches.

Many of us in the Southcenter to Tacoma region have spent many hours (days, weeks, sometimes even our entire youth it seems) chasing those blasted Elves around in search of their treasures.

We've been darn near landed on by jumbo jets, we've had views of Mt. Rainier from 'within' art work, we've been to the Sound and somehow found parking. Those folks are all OVER the place. Elves, schmelves, I think they're a present-day variant of Hansel and Gretel who leave a trail of ammo cans and tupperware behind themselves to find their way home.

Heck, they found one of my caches plundered and rescued/rehid the ammo box so deviously that I had to grovel for them to rehide it again ten months later so *I* could find the darn thing and recover the ammo can.

OK - payback time (bwahahahahhahaha)....

Given the approaching St. Patrick's Day holiday (or as we of the Irish-American persuasion call it - beer drinker amateur hour), I thought I'd create a bit of a challenge cache for geodeez and company to go for, in begrudging appreciation of the deviousness of some of their hides.

This cache takes you on up to a 1.4 mile hike through a greenbelt that I stumbled across which simply blew me away. Especially when moving north-to-south as the sun was getting toward sunset, it was wonderfully peaceful, especially given the psychotic unconstrained traffic and zoning chaos that is our fair 'Bellevue-wannabe' city.

And now for the requisite Geodeez-themed puzzle...the following image defines the coordinates of the cache. I stumbled upon this encoding while researching one of the Geodeez caches that I eventually successfully found a while back. I'm sure it all looks Greek to you, but it's not. Think about the title.

The trailhead is at 47.17.952 by 122.22.478, just behind the obvious railing that goes down the hill into the greenbelt. I'd suggest that before you leave, you verify your puzzle solution HERE just in case.

Update - if you don't' want to use the hints, you might need to add as much as .015 minutes North to your calculated puzzle coordinates, it was pretty tough getting lock in the ravine.

While there are lots of ways into the cache area from the surrounding neighborhoods, I'd suggest you start at the published parking coordinates and enjoy the whole trail south-to-north, then back again, the walk certainly made my day, hope you enjoy it too.
