GT Dino's Lunch Box

60 Million years ago last Dino's died all over the world. But why this happen isn't completely clear till now. One theory is about an impact of a big meteorite which reflected a lot of dust in the atmosphere. Sun light was very poor and temperature goes down a lot. The Dinos were not able to handle this fast climatic change and they died together with a lot of other animals.

The two special species of Dinos which were living here are called Megalosaurus and Iguanodon. Nearby this cache are footprints of Dinos visible. They lived about 120 to 180 million years ago. More information you can find in the internet - I'm not an expert about Dino's :-)

Megalosaurus (www.wikipedia.org)

Or? You want to read about another theory? Well, maybe they loosed their lunch-boxes? We found one of them and decide to let this lunch-box as a XL cache in nature. So any Geocacher can find it and although see some of Dino's footprints in this area.

Footprints at: N 38°48.623 W 009°28.823. At the Moment the stairs to them are closed, danger of landslip.

Hunt

As we like the very special nature between Cascais - Cabo da Roca and Sintra it was clear for us to bring you here for hunting our second cache. It is a nice walk from Praia Grande to Praia Adraga.
As we are a family with kids (today 4 and 10 years old) our hidden caches has to be kid-friendly. So take care of your kids and bring them with you in this fantastic area. We tried to find and a place without thorns and other kid-unfriendly things. To avoid damages in nature the shown coordinates are really exact. So don't damage something and take care about the environment. Because of the size it should be easy to find.

Cache

First cache of Golden-Team was a good success and we were so nervous about it. So for this cache we put all our happiness and Portugal-Cache-Experience together for prepare it as good as possible. It's like you can imagine a bigger box (17 x 30 x 21 cm). So please feel free to bring some trade items. Start up content is listed below. Travel Bugs are welcome as well. We were in Portugal for our honeymoon and - as always on holiday - we also did some geocaching.
Today we made a car trip and drove around the Serra de Sintra. We found this cache along the way.
After having completed the nearby dinosaur EarthCache, we decided to walk a little further to this cache.
It was a pleasant surprise to find out that the cache container is a large ammobox. TFTC!
