Geocache Description:

This an easy cache just off the main North Uist circular road.

PLEASE NOTE-THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED WITHIN THE FENCED MEMORIAL AREA!

The cache location is very close to a cairn that commemorates the first landing of an air ambulance in the Western Isles.  The air ambulance, piloted by Captain Jimmy Orrell, landed on the beach in front of the cairn on the 22nd of May 1933.  The aircraft was used to bring home the seriously ill Revd. Malcolm Gillies from the mainland to the manse at Clachan, close to the cache site.

The cache is a small container with a log and pencil that is big enough to hold a few trackables and other items.  There is also ample car parking next to the cairn.
